👀 Engineering at Ageras

At Ageras, our 150 engineers design scalable, reliable, and user-centric solutions through a modern architecture that drives our growth. Organized into specialized tribes, they collaborate in cross-functional teams—including an Engineering Manager, a Product Manager, a Product Designer, and Software Engineers—to foster innovation and excellence.

Our structure maximizes impact and ownership:

• Product teams develop core features for key business domains (invoicing, banking, accounting).
• Platform teams manage infrastructure and core services (Cloud, DevOps, Core APIs, developer tools).
• Data team builds data pipelines for engineering, modeling, and analytics.

The Engineering Banking team at Ageras is divided into four sub-teams, each playing a key role in delivering and operating our banking services:

• Banking Operations: Handles back-office tools, banking accounting, and compliance through fraud detection and reporting.
• Banking Activation: Drives customer onboarding, KYC/KYB processes, and boosts revenue through conversion and upselling strategies.
• Banking Experience : Enhances user interactions with features like account management, payments, and card lifecycle across all markets.
• Banking Platform: Builds and maintains the technical foundation, including card issuing, SEPA integration, and ledger management.

Regarding our stack, our architecture is structured in microservices and cloud functions, and we use React, React Native, Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Docker, Terraform, and AWS.

📋 Your Role as a Software Engineer

By joining our Banking Operations team, you will play a key role in mitigating fraud risks for Ageras and its customers. You will empower our Fraud & AML operators with powerful tools, reliable data, and the necessary support to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead the development and delivery of key features within your squad, ensuring high-quality, efficient code.
• Fighting fraud on a daily basis by implementing innovative security scenarios.
• Collaborating closely with Fraud, Compliance, Security, and other Tech teams.
• Providing support to operators in their daily use of the Back Office, ensuring optimal efficiency and usability.
• Write reusable, maintainable code, conduct tests, and participate in code reviews to uphold rigorous quality standards.
• Implement automated testing to ensure product reliability, optimize performance, and swiftly address production issues.
• Champion best development practices like domain-driven design, clean code, pair programming, and mentoring.
• Drive architectural decisions by proposing and implementing innovative technical solutions.

🔎 About you

• You have at least 5 years of backend development experience in a JavaScript/TypeScript environment.
• You have solid expertise in clean code principles, microservices architecture, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) for building scalable and maintainable systems.
• You have hands-on expertise working in Cloud environments like AWS or GCP.
• You can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and shared understanding.
• You have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
• Ideally, you’ve worked in highly regulated sectors like banking or insurance and are familiar with fraud-related topics/recommendation systems….
